Image transfer art workshop
TUESDAY, 1/10/12, 4 pm-7pm
BICAS, 44 W 6th street
To all my Tucson readers: come join me to learn a fun and easy image transfer process, then use the resulting transluscent pictures to make your own suncatches, pendants, bookmarks and whatever else you can dream up!
This is a great way to reuse old magazines. If you have your own small magazine or photocopied pictures that you would like to use, feel free to bring them in. (Inkjet printed pictures do not work for this process.) Bringing your own images is completely optional- we’ll have plenty of biketastic pictures for you to choose from here at BICAS.
Donations greatly appreciated and support Underground Art Programming.
So I was at Steph’s birthday margarita lunch and our friend Rachel was talking about this over-the-top rainbowy recycled sweater hat she got for the holidays and didn’t think she’d wear. I told her I would totally wear that hat. Steph and I went to pick it up- we had a nice little visit and I played with her folks’ ENORMOUS and extremely affectionate labradoodle.
Turns out the hat was from Christie’s Hippie Closet in the style of Katwise, a designer I’ve been following online for some time. Katwise sweater coats are so in demand that they sell out as soon as they are posted on etsy. I always have fun looking at the new color combos she comes up with.
I took my hat out to play in the desert.
I’m super excited about this bit of handmade goodness! I will wear it all the time. Thanks Rachel!
