We have all these bags of wonderful alpaca fiber at Juniper Hill but sometimes it can be challenging to come up with projects where everyone can be involved. To that end, I’d have to say these holiday ornaments were a huge success! The support staff helped form the cores by wet-felting balls of the alpaca and covering them with a layer of colorful sheep’s wool. The Juniper Hill guys and friends did the decorating by needlefelting precut shapes onto the ball. Most of these got sold at the farmers’ market.
They are so colorful!
Jose is concentrating so hard. He made one of Stephan’s face complete with 3-d mohawk. I don’t think I have a picture of it unfortunately!
For awhile we were using this camel to hold the ornaments. Maria (on left) strung them all on yarn.
Great job everyone!
